The first numbered UFC event of 2025 proved to be a memorable one as UFC 311 came out on top on Saturday at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
Despite the slow preliminary rounds, the main result delivered good results in every respect and ended with both champions successfully defending their titles. As the headliner, Islam Makhachev (27-1 MMA, 16-1 UFC) knocked out Renato Moicano (20-6-1 MMA, 12-6 UFC) in the first round to secure the lightweight gold medal, while in the co- Main event the bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili (19-4 MMA, 12-2 UFC) presented Umar Nurmagomedov (18-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) his first career loss in a unanimous decision.
