Britney Spears Claims She Ran Faster Than Usain Bolt!
Usain Bolt, the fastest man in history, had his legendary 100m world record momentarily “challenged” by none other than pop icon Britney Spears — but not in the way you might expect. The humorous moment, which originally sparked confusion and amusement online, has recently resurfaced as Bolt shared updates on his fitness and speed years after retirement.
Britney Spears Claims She Beat Bolt’s Record (Sort Of)
Back in 2020, Britney Spears took to Instagram with a surprising claim: she had completed a 100-meter dash in 5.97 seconds more than three seconds faster than Bolt’s world record of 9.58 seconds. Her post initially caught the internet off guard. “Ran my first 5!!!!… 100 meter dash ,” she wrote, sparking a flurry of reactions.

However, the singer later clarified it was all a joke. “PS… obviously I was joking about running the 100 meter dash in 5.97 seconds,” she admitted, playfully adding, “But you better believe I’m coming for the world record.”
Bolt’s Real Numbers Still Reign Supreme
Usain Bolt set the 100-meter world record at the 2009 World Athletics Championships in Berlin, clocking an astonishing 9.58 seconds. He also holds the 200-meter world record at 19.19 seconds. His dominance in sprinting made him a global icon, often compared to fictional characters like Roadrunner for his incredible speed.

Could Bolt Still Run Under 11 Seconds?
During a recent appearance on the Obi One Podcast, Bolt was asked if he could still break the 11-second barrier, even after eight years of retirement. Without hesitation, he responded, “Yeah, of course! 10 and a half, that would be me.”

Despite his confidence, Bolt joked about the risks of jumping back into sprinting at full speed. “I’d probably rip my hamstring,” he laughed, declining an offer of running spikes from podcast host and former footballer John Obi Mikel.
A Comeback Just for Fun?
While not aiming for a return to competition, Bolt revealed he might test himself for fun. “Everyone asks me this, so I thought I’m going to go home, train for three weeks, then go to a track and run just to see how fast I really am now,” he said.
The Legacy Lives On
Whether or not Bolt hits the track again, his record-breaking legacy is secure and even pop stars can’t resist having a little fun with it.
